In the past few months, we've had inspiring conversations with dozens of industry leaders. We're happy to announce that a select few have agreed to become our break-even travel experts. They will engage with you online and through events, in an effort to promote more sustainable forms of tourism. Below, we'd like you to meet our break-even travel experts:
Saskia Griep
Saskia is co-owner and director at Better Places, a Dutch travel platform founded in 2014 that specializes in tailor-made trips to Europa, Asia, Latin America and Africa. Better Places offers high-quality travel experiences with a focus on nature and the local population.
Marco van Leeuwen
Marco van Leeuwen is a lecturer at Breda University of Applied Sciences (BUas). The self-proclaimed ‘travel trailblazer’ identifies trends and builds bridges between the theoretical and the professional. Travelers, he believes, will either reboot (restart) or reinvent their travel needs.
Esther van Onna
Esther finds herself drawn to one-of-a-kind places to stay. That is why she created Local Hideaways, an independent and carefully selected collection of special accommodations that spans the globe and all price ranges. In the new era of travel, Esther believes, local experiences and small-scale accommodations will be at the heart of one’s itinerary.
Wim Kok
Wim is co-owner and director of Matoke Tours, a Dutch travel organization that specializes in tailor-made African travel itineraries. Wim has been key in founding several lodges throughout Africa as well as a tourism academy and reforestation campaign in Uganda. He strongly believes that travel organizations can and should lead the change towards a more sustainable future.
